      We are members of The London Office which provides us with a central London base to display and hold particulars of properties for sale. The office is manned by experienced agents and is situated in St James' Place just off St James'. From time to time we hold exhibitions either at the London office or at the Move to the Country Show when members of staff from our local offices meet buyers from the capital and home counties.

    Buying Through Us

      Initial contact with us will usually be via a website, over the phone or in person at one of our nine offices. You can continue to get up-to-date lists of available properties on an ad hoc basis but you may prefer to register with us. This will allow us to send you details of properties just as they come to the market or when prices are revised.

      Our applicant database is web-based and shared instantly across all nine offices so that you need only sign-up once to be matched with any property that fits your requirements.

      You can register, update your details and requirements or de-register through this website. You will receive notification of new properties via e-mail and can download full colour particulars from your web portfolio.

      Alternatively, you can also register by contacting one of our offices where a member of staff will take your details and discuss the current market and properties available with you. We endeavour to get all staff to see the property but, where this has not been possible, someone who has seen it can ring you back.

      If any property is of interest please contact the relevant office to discuss it further and to make arrangements for a viewing.

      Once you make an offer it will be submitted in writing to the vendors. The staff will need to collect personal details from you, if not already known, such as the position of your own sale and availability of finance.

      We will advise you of the outcome of any offer. Once an offer is accepted, we will notify your solicitors at the same time as the vendors. Because agents can speak to both buyers' and sellers' solicitors we will keep in touch with you during the sale process with updates, up to the point at which contracts are exchanged .

      Following exchange of contracts we will liaise with you and the vendor about the hand over of keys at completion. This usually takes place in our office but with planning a member of staff may be able to meet you at the property.

    Meet the Sherborne Team

      Mark Lewis FRICS FAAV Head of Residential, Partner

      Mark was born in Devon but moved to Sturminster Newton Dorset when he was 2 years old and now lives in a village near Sherborne.

      Educated in Dorset he then gained a diploma in Estate Management from the Royal Agricultural College at Cirencester. He spent a short time with a firm of auctioneers in Cheshire before returning to Sturminster Newton to work for Senior & Godwin where his father was Senior Partner.

      Becoming a partner of Symonds & Sampson in 1990 he headed the farm dispersal sales department and was principal livestock auctioneer at Yeovil Market. Mark now heads the residential department and is the firm's chief property auctioneer.

      Away from the office his interests include cooking, renovating his 16th Century house, hockey, cricket and walking in the glorious Dorset countryside with his wife, two children and labrador.

      Andrew Wakinshaw Residential Partner

      Andy has been in estate agency since 1987 working for a corporate agent and then joined Greenslade Taylor Hunt in 2001 running the residential department in Yeovil. He has acted for The Duchy of Cornwall, The Diocese of Bath and Wells as well as The National Trust. Andy has been selling property of all types in Dorset and South Somerset over the last 20 years, much of his work coming from referral and recommendation and he takes pride in being someone that clients feel happy and secure dealing with for all of their property matters.

      Andy lives with his fiancé Georgie and their young son Finn. He loves sport especially tennis and plays as often as he can. He is a lifelong Liverpool FC fan with all the highs and lows that brings!

      James Stagg Residential Sales Manager

      James manages the Sherborne sales team and has had an eventful and exciting youth travelling the world eventually returned to his roots having grown up in Somerset. 

      Exposure to different cultures and civilisations has developed James' excellent people skills and an understanding of how to deal with difficult circumstances. During his travels James developed a keen interest in wildlife and conservation and on his return home he attended the University Plymouth gaining a BSc in Conservation Biology.

       James is currently studying for his NAEA exams.

      Sue Bradshaw, Residential Assistant

      Sue has an enormous amount of agency experience having managed her own branch for a firm of estate agents in south Wales before marrying a Zimbabwean schoolmaster and emigrating for a number years. Since returning to the UK Sue and her husband have settled in Milborne Port where she is involved in the local community.

      Sue is primarily office based where she uses her considerable administrative experience to ensure the smooth running of the office. When called upon Sue demonstrates she has lost none of her superb negotiating skills.
