Last year most property sales in London involved flats which sold for on average £566,412. Terraced properties sold for an average price of £833,830, while semi-detached properties fetched £814,066.
London, with an overall average price of £724,861 was more expensive than nearby South East (£480,541), East of England (£400,598) and East Midlands (£264,125). The priciest area within London was Central London (£1,705,172) and the least expensive was East London (£526,740).
During the last year, sold prices in London were similar to the previous year and 8% up on 2021 when the average house price was £672,245.
