Most of the sales in South Wales over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £174,562. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £232,081 and detached properties averaged at £384,564.

South Wales, with an overall average price of £232,712, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby West Wales (£235,393) and North Wales (£226,212), but was cheaper than Mid Wales (£259,970). The most expensive area within South Wales was Monmouthshire (£351,622) and the cheapest was Blaenau Gwent (£141,301).

In the past year house prices in South Wales were 3% down on the year before and 4% up on 2021 when they averaged at £224,159.
