Most of the sales in South Wales over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £174,824. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £233,489 and detached properties averaged at £390,296.
South Wales, with an overall average price of £233,063, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby West Wales (£232,259) and North Wales (£228,614), but was cheaper than Mid Wales (£274,225). The most expensive area within South Wales was Monmouthshire (£357,103) and the cheapest was Blaenau Gwent (£144,292).
In the past year house prices in South Wales were 3% down on the year before and 4% up on 2021 when they averaged at £224,029.
