Most of the sales in Pickering over the past year were detached properties which on average sold for £244,996. Terraced properties had an average sold price of £190,735 and semi-detached properties averaged at £188,398.
Pickering, with an overall average price of £216,584, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Kirkbymoorside (£215,626) and Malton (£224,202), but was cheaper than Thornton Dale (£254,035).
In the past year house prices in Pickering were 4% up on the year before and 7% up on 2006 when they averaged at £203,281.
