Most of the sales in Shiremoor over the past year were detached properties which on average sold for £272,150. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £152,197 and flats averaged at £112,933.
Shiremoor, with an overall average price of £202,043 was more expensive than nearby Forest Hall (£182,689), but was cheaper than Monkseaton (£234,493) and Whitley Bay (£234,468).
In the past year house prices in Shiremoor were 25% up on the year before and 9% up on 2008 when they averaged at £185,567.
