Last year most property sales in Wem involved detached properties which sold for on average £219,595. Semi-detached properties sold for an average price of £144,477, while terraced properties fetched £116,345.
Wem, with an overall average price of £164,112 was cheaper than nearby Shawbury (£189,000), Baschurch (£282,460) and Bletchley (£375,000).
During the last year, sold prices in Wem were 7% down on the previous year and 11% down on 2008 when the average house price was £183,932.
