MovingWorks are celebrating 15 years of estate agency. Having been established in Longton since 2000, MovingWorks now have offices in Tarleton and Burscough with Personal Property Consultants covering Preston, Chorley, Leyland and Bamber Bridge.
In 2000, Georgina Cox opened the first MovingWorks Office in the village of Longton. Georgina, a Property Lawyer knew many of her clients had experienced poor service and extortionate fees from local agents but when she personally suffered the same fate through selling with a local agent she decided to do something about it.
“When I founded MovingWorks in 2000, my aim was to create a difference in estate agency: to bring trust, integrity and transparency, with a personable approach offering excellent customer service. That philosophy remains with the company today”
We have continued to provide this service over the last 15 years and we are now firmly established as a major player in the regions property market. MovingWorks has grown considerably over the years. “The internet was just stating back in 2000, very few agents even had computers and we were the first agents in the area to have a website! “
Rightmove was started later that year and as MovingWorks embraced the new technology, property selling through the internet took off. There are more complex issues involved in selling property now and more and more regulations involved. Over the years I have been dismayed by the practices of other agents, sadly under English law anyone can open up as an estate agent and many do not bother to pay the high fees to join regulatory bodies nor hold the estate agency qualifications. Yet the public pay them vast sums of money to sell their house with no come back should it go wrong. You wouldn’t use an unlicensed or uninsured dentist or solicitor so why would you place your largest asset with an unscrupulous agent?
MovingWorks and property marketing has come a long way since 2000 but the basic principles of transparency, fairness and top class customer service are up held today.
