Inspiration Wednesday – Blackpool

BlackpoolOur #InspirationWednesday this week is Blackpool, the original seaside holiday destination for the North West of England! Sat aside the Irish Sea, Blackpool is apparently the fourth most densely populated borough Of England and Wales outside Greater London – making it a buzzing hub of activity throughout the year.

The town is most known for its annual ‘Illuminations’ – a light display along the seafront which you can  watch from a car, on foot, by bike or on one of the lit up trams – which are a spectacle in themselves (and each have their own name!). Outside of the Autumn festivities, Blackpool offers seven miles of sandy beach (with donkey walks!), a bustling and recently renovated town centre and a plethora of arcades and fun amusements. And, in our opinion, Blackpool is the best place to get fish, chips and gravy!

Main attractions to the town include the Pleasure Beach Theme Park, the Blackpool Tower (often frequented by Strictly Come Dancing!), Blackpool Zoo, Sandcastle Water Park on the seafront, the Winter Gardens and Freeport, an outlet village just away from the coast. Whatever the weather, there’s something to do here and the atmosphere is always fun and bustling.
