The village of Cunningsburgh is scattered over a fairly wide area, amenities in the area including the primary school (older pupils go to Sandwick or Lerwick) which is just along the road, a well-used community hall plus a marina at Aithsvoe, and the village hosts one of Shetland's biggest agricultural shows in August.

The land's elevated position allows for super views eastwards over the whole of the Cunningsburgh area generally to Aithsvoe and the sea including the island of Mousa to the south.

The land currently has planning permission for equestrian use however there was a house on the site before that. A pre-planning enquiry with the local planning department indicated that a change to residential use would be looked on favourably however prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves in this regard by contacting the local planning department directly.
