Description
Veryan is a picturesque coastal village on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall. The village has been described as one of Cornwall's loveliest villages and as a 'mild tropic garden? by Sir John Betjeman. It is probably best known for the thatched round-houses, built by the vicar Jeremiah Trist, in the early 19th century.
The main transport link in the area are the buses (stopping outside the pub's door), which travel between the villages into the bigger cities in the area. The closest main city to Veryan is Truro, which is 12.3 miles (28 minutes) via A390.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are 8.4 miles (21 minutes) via Green Lane, the Eden Project 16.6 miles (40 minutes) via B3287 and A390, Falmouth 22.8 miles (52 minutes) via A39, Mevagissey 8.8 miles (24 minutes) via Tregoney Hill and St Austell 13.1 miles (29 minutes) via B3287 and A390.
The 16th century New Inn is located in the heart of the village and benefits from strong local trade as well as tourists, being ideally placed to explore the fabulous Cornish coastal paths including the South West Coast Path, a route for keen walkers in Cornwall, and close to the two award winning beaches of Carne and Pendower.
