Description

LOCATION
Walkerburn is a small village nestled along the banks of the River Tweed. Founded in the mid-19th century by industrialist Henry Ballantyne, Walkerburn originally grew as a mill village centered around the production of woolen textiles, a key industry in the region. The mills no longer operate and the village retains much of its historical charm, and the remnants of its industrial past are visible in some of its architecture and layout.

Popular among walkers and cyclists, Walkerburn provides access to a variety of outdoor activities. The Southern Upland Way, one of Scotland's famous long-distance walking routes, passes nearby, offering hikers stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Walkerburn is also a community with a strong local identity, home to several small businesses, a community hall, and local events that bring residents together. The village is close to other notable towns in the Borders, such as Innerleithen and Peebles, which are known for their history, outdoor sports, and cultural activities. Walkerburn's proximity to these larger towns makes it a peaceful yet connected place to live or visit, offering both tranquility and access to the wider attractions of the Borders region

The Borders area is renowned for its quality of life and boasts a wide range of attractions ranging from historic houses, abbeys and castles, to internationally acclaimed fishing on ranging from historic houses, abbeys and castles, to internationally acclaimed fishing on
