The surrounding area is mixed in character. To the north the adjoining land is occupied by Fernwood Transport and an HGV training site. To the south
and south-east along Main Road, the character is primarily industrial with occupiers including Hovis and Aero Fabrications, as well as allotments
situated immediately to the south. To the west are established residential neighbourhoods and community facilities, while the wider corridor along
the A610 contains a range of employment and light industrial uses.
