What with the housing market throwing in more twists and turns than best-selling crime novel, many are choosing to avoid all the complications of buying a house and renting instead. There are some key benefits to renting, it may be cheaper, you won't incur additional maintenance costs and it is a more flexible housing solution.
If you're looking to rent, then you're in the right place. We have properties ranging from city centre apartments through to family homes in the country, so we're almost guaranteed to find you your perfect place.
Making your rental yours
One of the main disadvantages of renting is not being able to make your mark on a property, but what if we told you that you could? Now, we aren't talking about big structural changes, but there are a multitude of ways to make your rental property feel like home without breaking the bank ¿ or the tenancy agreement!
Furniture: Renting an unfurnished property gives you some wiggle room on how you can get creative with your furniture. Even if your rental is furnished already - it's the small details that truly make a house a home. Investing in some cushions, rugs, throws - basically anything that's soft! - will help a rental instantly feel cosy, and it's a bonus that they are easy to move with you when your tenancy comes to an end. A few lamps, some light curtains and a couple of house plants will also help your home feel more welcoming.
Décor: Prison-esque bare walls or blue-tac stained walls that will eat into your deposit? Not much of a choice, so how can you spruce up your walls without leaving oily stains on the walls? Command strips are a great way of giving the room a personal touch with no lasting damage. If your landlord doesn't mind, whack out a paintbrush and get going! As usual, best to stick to neutral but if you really do need that bright green feature wall, just paint over it with a neutral tone when you move out.
Honesty is the best policy
It's true that estate agents don't tend to have the best reputation when it comes to honesty - so why is Andrews any different? Well, honesty is in the very fabric of our company. It's in the way we take our property photos, using no artificial colours, Photoshop or wide angles. It's in our straight talking staff, who will be upfront and honest regarding fees and tenancy agreements. When you rent through Andrews, you know the in's and outs of the home you are renting, and you know that should you need us, we're only a phone call or short walk to the branch away. We take a personal interest in the personal process of finding a place to rent, and we're here to help you find your perfect place.
