    Due to our exceptionally high level of service, we have maintained our position of Harlow's market leader in lettings, which we have been since 1994. As our success has continued, we now let properties in Sawbridgeworth, Bishops Stortford and surrounding areas.

    We are an independently owned and currently represent and serve over 550 landlords (managing 800 properties), providing good quality accommodation. We aim to mitigate risk and maximise returns, saving both time and money - that's why landlords rely on us to look after their properties time and again. 

    With personal pensions in decline and stock markets erratic, property has always been a solid investment that will continue to grow over the long term. Many people in the last fifteen years have seen the advantages of buying to let, creating their own lettings portfolio to secure their financial future. Since we began trading in 1994, Guardian has assisted many new and existing landlords to create and enhance their existing property portfolios, to let their properties out in a professional manner.


    Rental values at all time high!

    Demand for rented accommodation is very strong, and rental values are at an all time high. Letting residential property remains a strong investment opportunity, subject to purchase price, deposit and mortgage level.

    David Coltman - Founder Member of LLP
    I am one of the founder members of Guardian and am still keenly involved in the daily running of the business. I have been involved in the property industry in every form since 1984, with extensive experience in buying, selling, renting, property management, renovating, and investing - all within Harlow and the surrounding areas. With over 30 years in the industry, I have experienced many different types of markets and helped thousands of customers buy, sell and rent all types of property. This enables me to guide the team, to ensure we swift to adapt to any and all changes in market conditions that we may encounter. I currently perform a mentoring and training role for our senior members of staff and oversee the entire team to ensure we provide an exceptional service for landlords and tenants alike.

    Ceri Evans - Founder Member of LLP 
    I am one of the founder members of Guardian and have been continually involved in the business since its establishment in 1993. I have worked across all aspects of the business, however my skills are more attuned towards property management, administration, human resources, and financial planning. I have resided in Australia for many years and have continued to successfully fulfil my role at Guardian on a remote basis. Primarily, I oversee Guardian's finances, human resources, and administration/legislation. However, I also provide support to the team, wherever the wealth of my experience and knowledge can be utilised, to best support the business. The long held vision for the business has been to achieve the highest possible standards within the letting industry and to this day, this remains my priority.

    Mike Coleman - Senior Member of LLP
    I joined Guardian in 2001 and became a partner in the business in 2003. Over the past 19 years I have worked in all aspects of the business, ranging from sales to lettings and more recently property management. This has provided me with a wealth of experience and knowledge across the business as a whole and enables me to have a 'bigger picture' perspective when making decisions on a daily basis. I approach my work in an honest, open, and steadfast manner. I believe this is key in enabling our customers have a full understanding of the process every step of the way, providing them with peace of mind and enables them to make informed decisions along the way. I currently oversee the day to day running of the office, and fulfil a training and support role to all the team.

    Laura Tunnell - Memeber of LLP 
    I joined Guardian in 2006, and since that time I have worked my way up from Secretary to becoming Residential Management Partner in 2016. Over the years I have worked in every area of property management, which has provided me with a very broad and in-depth knowledge. I have an eye for detail, which lends itself well to the lettings industry today, with legislation that is continually changing. I have a passion for technology and love exploring ways in which technology can assist us operate our business more smoothly. Continual advances in technology have enabled us to provide a service that is fast, efficient and thorough but doesn't lose the personal element that we have always valued and strived to maintain.

    Rachel Wells - Member of LLP
    I first joined Guardian in 2001 as a lettings negotiator, as I had a real passion for the industry. I became a partner in the business in 2016 and now oversee the residential lettings department. I take pride in understanding my client's needs and what outcome they wish to achieve. Whether this be a client who is new to the rental market and need step by step guidance through the rental process, or a seasoned, knowledgeable investor who need advice on how to maximise their income. Each client has very different needs! We are focused on providing a quality service to all our clients, ensuring we meet their needs and achieve customer satisfaction. I believe in honesty and integrity and use these values to produce results for our clients.

    Lee Surtees - Member of LLP 
    I have worked at Guardian since 2005. Due to my extensive experience in the industry I am able to fulfil a hybrid role, working across both sales and management departments, including carry out many of the final inspections. I strive to always have excellent communication with our customers and I approach my work in a professional and fair way, ensuring both landlord and tenant are left with a feeling satisfied at the end of a tenancy. I uphold the Guardian values of honesty and integrity in all the work I do. I also have a keen eye for graphic design and am involved with the design of the company advertising and branding.

    Tom Ridgewell - Lettings Negotiator 
    I am a lettings negotiator at Guardian. I came into the industry in 2016 as I had a keen interest in the lettings market. I currently manage the applicant base, conduct viewings, and liaise with applicants to enable them to find their perfect property to let. I believe having an open communication is key to building strong relationships with my customers and always having a good ear to listen to their needs. I approach my work in a very professional and energetic way and I'm always committed to assisting my customers in any way I can. I love the fast paced industry and very much enjoy my role in this busy office.

    Dempsey Favell - Accounts/ Property Manager
    After previously gaining significant experience in estate agency, I joined Guardian in 2017, to become a Property Manager. I am now able to work in all aspects of property management, including accounts, inventories, final inspections, and maintenance. I am a keen problem solver, which I believe is a vital skill for a good property manager. The issues that I deal with on a daily basis can be extremely varied and sometimes complex, requiring me to have a positive attitude and to think laterally and creatively. This then enables me to provide our landlords and tenants with a comprehensive and efficient service when managing their properties.

    Gemma Smith - Property Manager 
    I have worked for Guardian since 1997, starting as an apprentice secretary and working my way up to becoming a partner of the business from 2003 to 2014. Currently I fulfil an extremely varied role on a part time basis, using my wealth of experience and knowledge where it is best suited within the management department. I can work across all property management departments, switching between accounts, property maintenance, administration, and legislation. I uphold the same values as Guardian: those of honesty, respect, integrity and patience. It has been pleasure to be an important part of the team for so many years and watch the business develop and grow.

    Olivia Juniper - Junior Property Manager
    I joined the team at Guardian in December 2019 as a Trainee Residential Property Manager. I am responsible for any management and maintenance issues a tenant or landlord may encounter at their property once they have moved in. I strive to communicate effectively with landlords and tenants and take an immense amount of satisfaction in assisting them with their queries.

    I joined Guardian in 2017 as part of an apprenticeship program. I now fulfil an integral and important role in the property management team and am competent in all areas including property maintenance, inventories, and dealing with all landlord and tenant enquiries. I relish any new experiences and training that comes my way in the future, to extend further my knowledge in the industry. I am an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who likes to see results and ensure that everyone is left happy and satisfied. I am also a keen team player and understand that to manage a property effectively takes the effort of the entire team not just one individual.

    Juliette Rainbird - Finance Administrator 
    I started at Guardian in 2001 and since that time I have worked across all departments, including being partner from 2003 to 2013. I currently fulfil a part-time role, as office administrator and bookkeeper. I love the role as it is quite varied and I requires me to be able to think outside the box and deal with any query that comes my way. It has been a pleasure to work at Guardian, for a period in excess of 19 years, fulfilling many different roles throughout this time.
