Chorlton village provides a lively and vibrant atmosphere and includes street cafes, bars and restaurants. There are a variety of local shops catering for day to day requirements including the popular award winning Barbakan delicatessen and the Unicorn. The highly popular Chorlton Green/Beech Road local provides individual boutiques and array of bars like the Lead Station, Horse & Jockey and a number of restaurants catering for all tastes. Whilst more extensive facilities are available at the nearby Trafford Centre and Manchester City Centre itself.
Both Chorlton and Whalley Range offer a range of leisure and recreational facilities including Chorlton Cum Hardy golf course, nature reserve, parkland and the Water Park. Schools in the area are academically renowned making Chorlton and Whalley Range popular for discerning families. There are excellent transport links with a fantastic bus route into the centre of Manchester and a motorway network close by linking to the M56, M6, M60 and the M62 and nearby to Manchesters International Airport. Didsbury Community
Didsbury is south of the midpoint of Manchester city centre. To the north, Didsbury is bordered by Withington, Chorlton-cum-Hardy and Burnage, to the west by Northenden, to the east and south-east by Heaton Mersey and Cheadle, and by Gatley to the south.
The River Mersey forms Didsbury's southern and southwestern boundaries and certain stretches of the river also demarcate the boundaries of the City of Manchester. The area is generally considered to be roughly enclosed by Princess Parkway to the west, Kingsway to the east and the Ball Brook, just north of Lapwing Lane/Fog Lane to the north. This northern boundary is marked by a boundary stone in the front garden wall of a house on the west side of Wilmslow Road. A "country trail" passes from West Didsbury to East, named the Trans Pennine Trail (National Cycle Route 62). It was sited along a disused railway track, as part of a nationwide initiative to promote cycling.
