    A senior member of our team will visit you at a time convenient to provide you an honest and realistic achievable sale price based upon the latest data available from the land registry and of course our extensive market knowledge.

    How do you choose the agent to sell or let your home?

    My name is Shaun Candler and I am the Director of McCartney Sales & Lettings. My advice would be, look for the agent that will be able to achieve the best possible price, and provide you with the best service from start to finish of the sales transaction.

    To get the maximum coverage there are important factors.

    Property Portals

    As well as having important web coverage i.e. Rightmove, Zoopla, OnTheMarket etc., my 30plus years of experience in the property market we find a lot of our buyers are clients that we have valued their property in the past but haven't placed their property on the market. These clients are very important and having access to these extra clients will undoubtedly spark more interest, therefore, helping achieve the best possible price. With demand so strong at the moment for property, their own property would I believe also sell very quickly.

    Open House

    Open house events work well as this helps to create a lot of interest on one day and competition between viewers to put forward their best offer.

    Going That Extra Mile

    Having confidently marketed the property and agreed on a selling price, you would want an agent that is going to go that extra mile for you. Too many agents at this point say well it's over to the solicitors now... our job is done!

    Everybody Working Together

    My advice would be to choose an agent that will work with the solicitors, surveyors, mortgage lenders, builders etc from the beginning to the completion of the sale. Too many sales fall through as sellers haven't got an agent on hand working to make sure everybody works together, ensuring the sale completes.

    Best Service, Best Price

    Any estate agent can advertise your property on the internet for a knock-down fee paid upfront or a low commission percentage. But, if you're not getting that all-important service or the best possible price and seeing the sale through to completion, you're not only losing thousands by not having the local extra buyers, you also run the risk of the sale collapsing due to not having an agent to see the sale through.

    Shaun - Director

    Shaun has been involved in estate agency since 1985, and opened McCartney for business in 1992.

    He has assisted thousands of people with their house sales & purchases and gains great satisfaction when clients return to repeat the process with his company. As well as handling the sale of land and new homes, Shaun has a particular interest in character properties.

    Celebrating 30 years in Moulsham Street as of 2022, Shaun has seen considerable market changes in this time. He remains proactive in ensuring the latest technology is complemented by his customer care attention to detail.

    In his social time Shaun enjoys football, golf, and exploring the Norfolk coast for walks with his wife and spinone dog Mable.

    Nick - Lettings Manager
    Starting his lettings career in early 2000, Nick has run his own agency and worked within Essex during this time. Nick has brought his wealth of experience and commitment to our team and takes great pride in providing the very best service to our landlords and tenants. With experience in dealing with individual to multi-portfolio clients, nothing is too much trouble for him. Since joining our team in 2013, Nick has transformed our letting team and enabled us to reach record targets year after year. He ensures our landlords get the best return in the right time frame for their investments by conducting rental appraisals, valuations, viewings and oversees the running of the lettings department. Nick is a keen football and boxing fan outside of work and is regularly found in the gym.

    Lisa works in our lettings department and is a credit to the team. Lisa works tirelessly to ensure our landlords & tenants receive the highest standard of care. Her attention to detail is second to none . Lisa has excellent IT skills, and has a professional attitude in dealing with all aspects of letting & management. Lisa is a keen skier and enjoys adrenaline sports, having parachuted out of a plane at 12,000 feet for charity.

    Jamie - Sales Negotiator
    Jamie has joined McCartney Sales & Lettings to kick start his career within the property industry. He has experience in sales and customer service, and we are proud to have him onboard. Jamie will be out in the Old Moulsham area, showing potential buyers around our beautiful collection of properties. He grew up on Mildmay Road, and has extensive knowledge of the location. Outside of work, Jamie enjoys keeping fit and spending time with the family.

    Aston has been highly successful in the property sector, starting his career in 2007 as an office junior, working in Chelmsford and the surrounding towns and villages.       If your looking to sell your house I cannot recommend Mcartneys enough, particularly Matt. He has sold two houses for me over the past two years. I originally ignored all the bad stuff I've heard and put my first house up for sale with purple bricks (just to save a little bit of money) only to be sold false promises along side a massive lack of communication which was incredibly infuriation. After a while I just bit the bullet and got a proper estate agent in, Mcartneys. Matt arrived for our evaluation and instantly made me feel at ease with his professionalism and confidence. We instructed him and he sold the house pretty quickly with brilliant communication throughout and a real personal service. He gave myself and our buyer his personal mobile number so he could sort out any questions out of hours in his personal time which was above and beyond. A year later he sold another house for me and the same storey, a very painless and smooth sale. The office team were great too and very friendly whenever I spoke to them on the phone.
