Fishponds is a part of Bristol that's definitely on the up. There's a cosmopolitan feel to the area, with coffee shops and bars lining the high street, and some exciting investment being made in this part of the city. Nevertheless, it's still affordable, making it popular with first time buyers attracted by the Victorian properties and 1930s semi-detached homes. There are also some new developments at Scholars Chase, Frenchay Park and St Mathias Hospital.

Transport links are great in this part of town. The A432 runs through Fishponds and links to the M32 and the ring road. The M4 and M5 are close by too. There are various bus routes through the area, and the Bristol to Bath Railway Path offers a safe cycling route.

There are green spaces aplenty to explore with the kids or the dog, including Oldbury Court Estate, Fishponds Park and Eastville Park, and there's a wide range of 'good' primary and secondary schools and independent options.
