Inspiration Wednesday – Harrogate

Our #InspirationWednesday this week is Harrogate – the winner of our Happy at Home Index three years in a row! So what makes this spa town so loveable?

Sat within the East Ridings of Yorkshire, Harrogate became renowned for its spa waters during the Georgian Era, when people began to visit, in the hope that they would be cured of illnesses. The town has now built attractions around the growth in tourism to make it a vibrant and relaxed place to visit.

Harrogate is a lovely example of what charms Yorkshire has to offer. With beautiful manor houses within easy reach and a classified Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there’s plenty of things to fill your weekend with. And within the town centre there are markets, shopping, art, culture to explore.

Living in Harrogate would never get boring, with many festivals and events going on in the town and its surrounding areas throughout the year. And with a reputable selection of schools, including Harrogate Grammar, and close proximity to big cities, such as York and Leeds, for work, this is a great location from which to build strong family roots.
