Rightmove to host home-moving reform webinar with Propertymark
Rightmove is hosting a live webinar to help estate agents unpack new proposals to reform the homebuying and selling process, just days after the government announced its plans.
On 19th June, the government announced its roadmap for home-moving reform after consulting on changes last year. Rightmove worked closely with the government on these proposals, providing expert insights, leading data and views from home-movers and the industry.
The webinar is taking place on Thursday 25th June 13:00-14:00 in collaboration with Propertymark. It will go through the government’s proposed changes to the home moving process, and what they could mean in practice. Nathan Emerson, Propertymark’s CEO, will help to break down the developments and answer agents’ questions in a live Q&A.
Home buying and selling reform proposals are aimed at improving the speed and transparency of transactions, as well as reducing fall-throughs.
Rightmove data shows that the current average time to complete a property transaction once a sale is agreed is a lengthy 170 days, and over one in five (23%) transactions initially fall through, highlighting the need for improvement.
The webinar is part of Rightmove’s ongoing investment into tools, training and education to support agents in keeping up with a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
Jason Charles, Rightmove’s head of education says: “This session, just days after the government’s announcement, will go through what we know currently about the home-moving reform plans and what they could mean for agents. While some of the detail is still to emerge, we want to help agents to get ahead of any changes to the way the home-moving process works and make sure they feel confident talking to sellers and buyers about them.”
