Festival town sees demand rise as Glastonbury tickets go on sale

With general admission tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2027 set to go on sale this weekend, new analysis from the UK’s largest property platform Rightmove, reveals an uplift in buyer demand for the festival town this year.

Buyer demand in Glastonbury is 23% higher than a year ago, marking the strongest year-on-year increase for this time of year since 2020. Buyer demand is measured by the number of enquiries sent to estate agents about properties for sale on Rightmove.

Homes are also finding buyers 40 days quicker than they were this time last year, while the average asking price of a home in the town is £316,659, around £48,340 below the national average asking price of £364,999.

Buyers looking to move to Glastonbury now have more choice than a year ago, with the number of homes available for sale up 16%.

Colleen Babcock, Rightmove’s property expert said: “While some parts of the housing market are seeing slower buyer demand activity, with the national average for this time of year down 5%, Glastonbury is bucking the trend. Buyer demand in the famous town is 23% higher than a year ago, and homes are finding buyers much more quickly.

“With general admission tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2027 going on sale this weekend, it’s interesting to see renewed interest in one of the UK’s most recognisable towns ahead of the festival returning next year. With its distinctive character, strong sense of community and global reputation, Glastonbury continues to attract people looking for somewhere a little different to call home.”

Oliver Jenkin, Director at Copper & Tanner in Glastonbury said: “Glastonbury remains a popular place to live, with buyers drawn to its distinctive character, community spirit and beautiful Somerset surroundings.”

“With Glastonbury Festival returning in 2027 after its traditional fallow year, it’s possible that the town is also back on more people’s radar. Every year we speak to buyers who first discover the area through the festival and then return later with an interest in putting down roots.

“Beyond the festival itself, people are drawn to Glastonbury for its independent character, strong community feel and unique place in Somerset. It’s a very distinctive town, and that continues to make it an attractive place to live.”
