Searches for Detling triple as its crowned area with longest life expectancy

New data from the UK’s biggest property website Rightmove reveals buyer searches for Detling in Maidstone, Kent, more than tripled in October, after a Public Health England study showed it has the highest life expectancy in Great Britain.

Public Health England’s study revealed women in Detling have a life expectancy of 95, compared to the national average of 83 – the highest of any area in Great Britain. Men in Detling have a life expectancy of 86, compared to the national average of 80.

Buyer searches on Rightmove increased 256% in October compared to September following the news, and more than doubled (+133%) compared to October 2020.

Knightsbridge and Belgravia in London had the highest life expectancy for men at 92, and Ponteland South with Heddon, in Northumberland, had the highest combined life expectancy for women and men – 94 and 88 respectively.

The average asking price for a property in Detling is £553,496, compared to the national average asking price of £342,401.
