Description

A fabulous, detached home situated in a magnificent position in Hatford, with far reaching views over open countryside.

Upon entering you are greeted by a porch and into a very large hall with stairs rising to the first floor. There is a cloakroom and study to the front of a property, and in the centre, a kitchen. This has been fitted with an array of floor and wall mounted units, integrated appliances such as double oven, two fridges and a dishwasher with a separate utility room lying adjacent. The kitchen has a large opening looking out to the extended dining / family room which is the real heart of the home. This wonderful room stretches across the entirety of the property with large windows and sliding doors out to the garden with stunning views beyond. There is a separate and spacious living room complete with log burning stove and from here you are led through to the master suite. The current owners have added a fabulous master bedroom with vaulted ceilings, en-suite shower room and dressing room. From your bed in the morning, you can look out through French doors to the garden and see the sun rise.

Upstairs sit three great sized double bedrooms, a separate toilet and newly fitted family bathroom complete with bath, walk in shower cubical and hand basin.

Outside to the front of the property is a large driveway with parking for potentially up to 10 vehicles in front of a single garage. The rear garden is due south facing, it has a spacious patio, ideal for BBQs and entertaining, dropping down to an expansive lawned garden complete with weeping willow tree, hedgerows and a gate out to the fields beyond.

Hatford is a tiny village with a population of around 100, lying in the centre of the Vale of the White Horse. St George's parish church stands on the site of the Saxon church mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086.

The village lies just two miles from the A420, giving easy access to the larger centres of Oxford and Swindon, leading to the M40 and M4 respectively. There is a mainline train service from Didcot Parkway to London (Paddington c. 45 minutes) within 30 minutes’ drive. The Community Bus Service from Stanford in the Vale provides regular transport to the nearby market towns of Faringdon and Wantage and beautiful countryside walks are literally on the doorstep of this historic village, with the Downs and famous White Horse of Uffington, the River Thames and the Cotswolds all within easy reach.

Village primary schools can be found in neighbouring Stanford in the Vale and Shellingford, the Faringdon Community College was rated ‘outstanding’ by OFSTED in 2008 and there are several independent preparatory and secondary schools within easy access.
