Property Description

As you approach the apartment, it's obvious why so many retirees choose to live here.  The apartment is set within the Manor's beautifully landscaped gardens and the stunning sea views beyond.  The apartment has allocated parking nearby with plenty of parking for visitors.  The apartment is accessed via steps to the front door (with permission granted for stair lifts to be fitted if required - so no problem for the less mobile) or via level access from the garden to the apartment's patio doors.

Once inside, the apartment benefits from two double bedrooms (one En-suite) and a family bathroom and a large open living area comprising lounge area, dining area and modern kitchen.  The kitchen includes fully integrated appliances including fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and wine cooler.

Distant sea views are available from the Living Area which extends via a wonderful sitting area overlooking the gardens through large sliding glass doors to your own decked sun terrace large enough for plenty of potted plants (for keen gardeners) and outdoor seating for alfresco dining and socialising with friends and neighbours.

The property benefits from, gas fired underfloor heating throughout and electric towel rails in both bathrooms.

This completes this most contemporary and stunning property presented and decorated to show-home standard.

Lincombe Manor

A truly stunning residence, on the South Devon Coast dating back to 1864.  Formally the home of the Royal National Institute for the Blind, this Grade II listed building was restored by Nicolas James Group into a Residential Care Village with 60 homes within it's ground.  Orchard Place is one of the two-new builds on the overall site and in the grounds of the Manor House.

Inside the Manor House there are several stunning areas offering a calming space with wonderful panoramic sea views of the bay.

Firstly the charming award winning restaurant offers a varied menu as an alternative to cooking at home with lunch served every day and 'specials' for all residents such as Fish Night on Fridays, Sunday Roasts, Themed International Food evenings and extensive holiday meals across Christmas and Easter as well as special bank holiday treats.

In the splendid Lounge Area in front of the huge real fire, morning coffees and afternoon teas and treats can be enjoyed along with the in-house bar staffed by the Manor's own charming porters.

Moving on, the Manor also offers a quiet room, a library with a good stock of books and games, a larger ornate Dining Hall for special occasions and a TV room complete with full size Billiards Table.

Immediately outside of the Manor House is an extensive sun terrace (a real sun-trap!) dotted with tables and chairs for outside lunches and comfortable seating for morning and afternoon socialising.  Immediately opposite is a large croquet lawn open for games all summer long.

The Manor has a Health & Wellness team who plan a diverse programme of events and activities for those who wish to partake.  These include arts and crafts, gardening, various workshops, exercise classes and regular musical evenings from local entertainers such as Jazz and Rat Pack performers and choirs for carols at Christmas.

Many residents see living at Lincombe Manor Care Centre as an opportunity to develop a new skill or interest.  The programme caters for a wide range of needs and abilities, so anyone can participate.

Equally, the whole village offers tranquillity and calmness for those who seek it.

Owners Thoughts

“Lincombe Manor has been a much-loved home for both our parents  for many years.  With the Manor just a short distance away, with it's activities, they felt they had the best of both worlds.  The ability to be live independently in their own private home but also knowing the Manor was there if they wanted some company and entertainment.  At Orchard Place especially, a really lovely vibe built up with the residents getting to know each other with many socialising together on their terraces as the sun went down over the bay.  Perhaps most of all, the benefit of the 24 hour Porters could not be understated.  From the simple convenience of someone always around to lend a hand with something to knowing the area was safe and sound and, of course, the luxury of the restaurant and bar they staffed-with the option of 'room service delivery' at home for lunch!"

About the area

The Lincombes is one of Torquay's favoured districts, with the vibrant harbourside and marina at the base of the hill to the west where a wide range of bars, restaurants and theatre can be found. The picturesque Meadfoot Beach stands to the south, being a haven for watersports, and Wellswood with its village ambience lies to the north east, all within circa one mile distance.

With a stunning coastline, beaches and coves, Torquay is a pleasant environment for enjoyment of seaside living. The town has a diverse range of amenities for shopping and dining, with communication links including a direct link to the intercity rail network at Newton Abbot and the South Devon Highway, bypassing the village of Kingskerswell, improving journey time to Exeter and the M5 motorway.
