Hartwell is a village and former civil parish with a small community situated about 1.5 miles to the Southwest of Aylesbury. There is a large 17th Century building known as Hartwell House where King Louis XVIII stayed in the spring of 1814. The ruined Hartwell Church dates back to 1756 and is Grade II listed.
