A Grade II listed late medieval four bedroom house with alterations in the 17th and 19th centuries, in the town centre of Hitchin within walking distance of amenities. The house is in one of the oldest streets in Hitchin and according to the English Heritage grade listing may have a concealed timber framework to the front. The property is offered with no chain and includes a two room basement and a nearly 18 ft. attic room.

The entrance hall has a tiled floor, half height panelling and a curved entrance to stairs on the far wall. Steps up lead to the dining room which is panelled on three walls with an open fireplace on the other, and has a walk-in bay window to the front. The sitting room has an inglenook fireplace with gas fire, and exposed ceiling beams. The kitchen is fully fitted with traditional pine units with a built-in oven and gas hob. The kitchen has access to stairs down to the cellar which has two rooms for storage A rear hall/store area has a door to the courtyard garden and to the ground floor cloakroom.

First and second floors

The principal bedroom has a fireplace, a deep fireside cupboard, and a walk-in bay window to the front. The other two bedrooms also have windows to the front and the second bedroom also has a fireplace. The bathroom has a three piece suite, a window to the rear and an airing cupboard. On the second floor there is a fourth bedroom and the attic room.

A range of shops, restaurants, public houses, theatres and leisure facilities are within walking distance and it is also within walking distance of Hitchin Boys' School and Hitchin Girls' Schools as well as Samuel Lucas Primary School, all of which are rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
