Vila Nova do Ceira is a small but charming town with many cafes and a few shops, with a pharmacy, cash point and two small supermarkets. The town square, shaded by trees in the summer months, is bordered by cafes and a large church. Many Festas take place here throughout the summer including a Folklore Festa where groups of singers and dancers come from all over Portugal to perform in traditional dress. There is a playground and a primary school for the children. Within walking distance is a river beach with bar and BBQ areas perfect for relaxing in the summer. Góis is only about 5 minutes drive.

Góis is a small town in Central Portugal with a number of river beaches, many bars, cafes and restaurants, supermarkets, banks, doctors surgery and a secondary school. It hosts many festas throughout the summer including the Honey and Chestnut Festa in the Autumn and the famous Motorbike Festa in August (Portugal's third largest).
