The cottage backs onto fields in the corner of which is a children's playground. The nearest village for amenities is Horam which has a good range of shops, vets, doctors, golf and tennis clubs. For supermarkets both Heathfield and Hailsham have several with a larger range of local shops and schools. The nearest main line station is at Polegate, about fifteen minutes drive, with a service to Victoria. The village remains one of a few rural villages surrounded by farmland and woodland with public footpaths.
