Riverside Cottage is a lovely semi-detached house located in the small hamlet of Appersett, near Hawes.
Hawes is an active community and still has its weekly outdoor market and is famous for its cheese making, making it a tourist honey pot! It has a good range of shops, pubs, restaurants, Church, primary school and medical facilities.
The cottage sits in a quiet location by the river with lovely long distance views.
To the ground floor, there is a light and airy lounge, modern kitchen diner, utility and shower room. The first floor comprises 3 bedrooms and a toilet, which is accessed via the third bedroom.
Externally, to the rear of the property is an enclosed gravelled garden area with shed and at the front is a gravel patio and parking for 1 or 2 vehicles.
During a storm in 2019 the river burst it banks and flooded the ground floor of Riverside Cottage. An insurance claim was made and the ground floor has since been renovated with new flooring, electrics, new kitchen and shower room. The property hasn't been affected by flooding since. Neighbouring properties have installed flood defences. This could be carried out at Riverside Cottage to protect from any further water damage.
