Seller's Insight

We had searched all over Mid and West Wales for 18 months when we discovered Ceunant. We were looking for a property to retire to and to enjoy a rural setting. We fell in love with the location of the house, nestled in the Upper Severn Valley near the lovely little town of Llanidloes. The property sits on a bank about 25 feet above the infant River Severn and has a stream called Nant Goch running down the side of the house. We were in awe of how beautiful the surroundings were – rolling hills, many trees, and green valleys. We also had plans to extend and improve the house and the land outside. We bought the property in 2012 and in 2013 we had two extensions added. One was to combine the kitchen, a study, and a conservatory into a large open plan area. This large space is now the “heart” of the house and it’s where we spend most of our time. The other extension was to provide a living area for an aging parent, we added a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom to an existing (truncated)

Seller's Insight

The land connected to Ceunant extends to about 4 acres. This includes a small field to the west of the house that we have given over to nature and where we have planted 200 trees, which are now coming into maturity, and installed a wildlife pond with seating areas. There are landscaped gardens at the front and rear and several paths around the house and down by the river. We have installed a seating area at the rear overlooking the river and built a clay oven so that we can enjoy pizzas in the warmer months. Elsewhere there are many other native trees and hedgerows, and others that we have planted, we grow fruit and vegetables, and we have planted and cultivated a beautiful meadow area. We keep chickens and Indian Runner ducks. There are many points of access to the river and we installed a stepped path down one of the banks to provide views over and along the Severn. We have participated in the National Garden Scheme for several years and we have held many open days for (truncated)
