There are leisure and fitness facilities at Caterham on the Hill including the De Stafford sports centre whilst Chaldon is surrounded by miles of open countryside with excellent walking and riding including Happy Valley and the North Downs Way, accessible at the top of the road. The Surrey National golf course is also nearby. There is a selection of schools for children of all ages locally in the area. There is also a footpath at the end of the road that cuts across Queens Park to the top of Church Hill and down to the valley. More comprehensive facilities can be found in Caterham Valley and there are regular buses at the end of the road to Caterham, and Redhill. Trains to London are from Caterham or Merstham . The motorway network can be access at J6 Godstone approx three mile distant.
