Hasketon is a small rural village to the west of the A12 and is a short drive and walking distance from Woodbridge, a market town of considerable character on the west bank of the River Deben. There is a wide variety of boutique shops, a cinema, library, swimming pool and a choice of quality restaurants. The River Deben has a sailing club with river sailing out to the north sea.

There is a railway station with a regular service to Ipswich, the County Town of Suffolk which offers a wide range of shopping and recreational facilities as well as a mainline railway station to London Liverpool Street.
