Description
Description
Tarasaigh House is a contemporary four bedroom home set in an idyllic location with breathtaking panoramic aspects across the white sands of Seilebost beach.
The accommodation begins with the entrance hallway leading into a large open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with wood burning stove, offering a fantastic social space with stunning views. The cosy snug room has its own wood burner. There is one double bedroom on the ground floor with fitted wardrobes and en suite shower room. A handy utility room and WC complete the ground floor accommodation. The first floor has a further three spacious double bedrooms and main bathroom.
The elevated patio area off the living room serves as the perfect spot to enjoy the spectacular outlook. Tarasaigh House sits within its own gardens with well-placed picnic table and two small sheds ideal for additional storage.
The property currently operates as a successful holiday let with accounts available on request. Tarasaigh House has been part of Borve Lodge Estate for the past few decades, the Estate which was crowned 2024 winner of 'Scotland's Greatest Escape'.
Note to buyers:
The house, and several others in the vicinity, are owned by Cathra and Adam Kelliher who run Borve Lodge Estate. Together they have also invested in nearby Taransay Island, the UK’s largest uninhabited island of BBC Castaway fame, where they are focusing on an ambitious, long-term environmental regeneration project. Cathra’s father himself bought Tarasaigh House from the last inhabitant of Taransay island in the 1980’s. Previous to the Kellihers operating the property as a holiday let, it was home to the Estate Manager, his wife and their three young children. Tarasaigh House works wonderfully both as a family home or as a business.

Location
The Isle of Harris is part of the Outer Hebrides, an archipelago off the west coast of mainland Scotland.
Accessible by ferry from the mainland ports of Uig on the Isle of Skye and Ullapool or flights to Stornoway (45 miles), the island is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, including rugged mountains, rolling moorlands, and stunning beaches.
Luskentyre and Seilebost are particularly renowned for their white sands and turquoise waters. Harris is the home of the world-famous Harris Tweed, a handwoven luxury fabric which is still produced on the island today.
Harris offers a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and wildlife watching, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts. The nearby village of Tarbert (9 miles) serves as a gateway between the islands of Harris and Lewis, and offers essential services such as a post office, bank, small shop and medical facilities. Tarbert also hosts one of the main ferry terminals on the island with regular services to Uig on the Isle of Skye
