On the Northern edge of the village is Toddington Manor which is a stunning Tudor Manor house with a deep, rich history predating the Norman invasion of 1066, visited by Elizabeth I in 1563 where she knighted the owner, Henry Cheney. In more recent, light hearted village history Kevin McCloud, presenter of TV show Grand Designs was born and raised in Toddington, English poet William Blake is said to have drunk in the, now converted, Angel pub, whilst child actor Jack Wild, best known for his role as the Artful Dodger in the film Oliver is buried in the parish cemetery.
