Description
Hidden from the road is this period extended cottage full of character and charm with many original features such as exposed beams and original doors. The property sits in private gardens that wrap around the property and offer plenty of spaces to enjoy the sun at different times of the day. The property was originally built in 1824 and has been carefully modernised and extended while retaining the character of the property.
Internally the accommodation briefly comprises a large contemporary kitchen/breakfast room with doors to the garden, sitting room with a log effect gas fire, dining room, snug/occasional bedroom and newly fitted shower room/utility. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms serviced by a family bathroom.
Outside the property benefits from enclosed gardens that wrap around the cottage. The gardens are well stocked and feature a range of trees and shrubs maintaining a great level of privacy. As an addition, there is a small courtyard garden adjacent to the utility room which is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening.
Please note the property has a typical cottage staircase that is steep and narrow and so may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility.
We have noticed...
This cottage it totally unique and has a warm welcoming feeling inside. The gardens are a delight and the location is superb for local amenities.
Our vendor says...
What I love about Hope Cottage is the feeling of being in a country cottage with a private garden but the convenience of being near to everything you ever need in town, and a great pub just up the road. I love sitting at the Island in the kitchen and having friends visit and sit there while I cook. I love the snug area of the lounge - really cosy with the fire on in the winter.
Directions
