LOW ASKOMIL
CAMPBELTOWN
Occupying a superb location between High and Low Askomil this outstanding GEORGIAN VILLA with a detached annexe commands a truly glorious southerly outlook across the loch to Bengullion.
As one would wish, many of the original features have been retained and all rooms are beautifully proportioned comprising entrance vestibule, an impressive reception hall leading through to the sitting room having ornate cornice work and oak fireplace with high mantle as well as sublime view, spacious formal dining room with similar view to that of the sitting room and an equally splendid fireplace, good sized working kitchen with room for a breakfasting table and having a westerly view towards the town and harbour. There is also the added bonus of a utility room situated just off the kitchen and a ground floor bedroom with superb en-suite.
A sweeping staircase leads to the first floor accommodation of a wonderfully bright drawing room overlooking the loch towards Davaar Island and three bright airy bedrooms each having spacious modern en suites and superb elevated views. A door from the landing leads to a staircase which accesses a further bedroom and storage area on the Attic floor.
The garden grounds are on two levels with a large expanse of lawn at the front to the east of the access drive which leads up from Low Askomil and accesses the main house as well as a DETACHED ANNEXE having two bright airy rooms with south facing windows as well as a bathroom. The rear courtyard has steps leading to a further two areas of lawn, a large greenhouse and the remains of a Victorian greenhouse, which is in need of repair but is still a beautiful feature within the grounds. The basement of the main house has two extremely spacious stone cellars which are only accessed from the front of the building and have a range of uses.
