Description
Pickwick court was one of the most popular developments built in Corsham around 7 years ago and the "Walton" style 4 bedroom home was by far one of the most popular!
The feeling of space in all areas starts with the wide and open hallway. I call it a "Christmas tree hall" with so much room and a galleried staircase, this grand entrance is perfect to greet your guests. It even has a useful storage cupboard, hard wearing Amtico wood effect flooring and a large downstairs cloakroom. Off the hallway, the large living room extends from front to the back of the house, giving it light from both ends of the room, further enhanced by the wide French doors to the garden.
This is complimented by an L-shaped Kitchen/Diner/Family space. Exactly what all modern families want, this space has a breakfast bar for stools, and space enough for a table and small sofa. Throw open another set of French doors out onto the patio and everyone can spill out into the large garden too. A perfect entertaining space ! The kitchen area is fitted with a range of modern units, with integrated dishwasher, fridge/freezer , double oven, gas hob and plenty of storage space. In addition, a real bonus is the utility room, with a sink for muddy boots, and both washing machine and tumble drier spaces. A large store cupboard is also perfect for the other kitchen cleaning essentials and the side door out is perfect for access with muddy kids or dogs!
Upstairs and off the bright galleried landing, there are 4 excellent bedrooms all able to accommodate a double bed and evenly balanced in size. The main bedroom is a lovely sized space with built in sliding wardrobes and very large en suite shower room fitted with a wide shower cubicle, half height tiling, ceiling spotlights and heated towel radiator. The family bathroom is also a good size with a shower fitted over the bath and also benefits from the same upgrades as the en suite. Both are finished with stunning Amtico flooring.
Outside the garden space is surprisingly spacious and wraps around to the side giving a perfect place to store bins and other essentials. Laid mainly to lawn, the rear garden has a wide patio laid with a pathway to the side door into the garage. A pretty designed space for low maintenance and perfect for entertaining family and friends. To the front is a single garage with long driveway suitable for at least 2 cars. Arguably one of the prettiest spots overlooking a wide green space with mature trees. In addition there are further green spaces on the development, including a children's equipped play area.
The Pickwick Court development was built on the historic "Copenacre" site, a key MOD centre in it's time and offered access to the vast underground city which was created under Corsham in the old stone quarries. To this day, some of the historic structures still remain and form part of this small development created by Bellway Homes. the site itself backs onto open farmland and access to local walks are easily found nearby. There are large areas of green space within the area and also a lovely children's play park. Situated on the Bath side of town, access to Bath by car or bus is excellent and in the other direction, easy access to Chippenham where the mainline rail station is found giving a commute to London Paddington in around an hour. Road links via the A4, M4 and M5 are swift and one reason that Corsham is such a popular area. The picturesque town centre is the main draw, with pedestrianised areas, historic buildings, and peacocks who wander around like they own the place ! The large Corsham park alongside Corsham court is the perfect place for a stroll around the lake, finishing up in one of the local cafes or cosy pubs on the high street. A wide variety of unique, independent shops and eateries are complimented with excellent schools and leisure facilities including a pool, gym, tree lined cricket club and football and rugby clubs close by. The area holds a strong community spirit with regular activities, clubs and events and being so close to the National trust villages of Lacock and the wide open areas of countryside surrounding the town.
