History
Allangrange House is a Neo-Georgian structure dating from 1907 surrounded with fine gardens and previously home to botanical artist Elizabeth Cameron (1915-2008).
Elizabeth Cameron, a botanical artist and entrepreneur studied at the Slade Art School and St. Johns Wood Art School exhibiting her artwork at The Royal Scottish Academy in 1939. Inspired by her own garden at Allangrange on the Black Isle, she began to paint flowers in watercolour and was later recognised by The Royal Horticultural Society and exhibited in London and the USA.

Her painting of a Humanity Rose raised millions for the Red Cross and brought her their badge of honour for distinguished service.

Location:
Allangrange House Estate is situated about 2 miles southwest of the welcoming village of Munlochy, with breathtaking views south over unspoiled countryside. Despite the rural aspect of this estate, Allangrange is only a short commute to the A9 and 4 miles to the edge of Inverness. Inverness international Airport is 7 miles beyond inverness on the moray coast and there is regular intercity trains to and from the city centre.

The main school in the area is The Royal School, Gordonstoun with educational boarding facilities from ages 8-18.

The estate is also extremely well located for highland sports with stalking, grouse and pheasant shooting. The Conon and the Beauly are the nearest major salmon rivers and the Spey, Findhorn, carron or the Oykel are all reachable within an hour.

The general area is particularly well known for the quality of its agricultural land and the diversity of landscape. The black isle has some of the most productive and fertile land in the country yet the mountains, forests and lochs of the highlands are readily accessible. The coast from Nairn to Golspie is spectacular and includes the Moray and Dornoch firths with numerous nature reserves, miles of sandy beaches and some of the best links golf courses in Scotland.
