Description
A pretty Victorian mid-terrace home on this sought after East Oxford side road. Named “The Pink House”, it is a real stand out home, welcoming you with its freshly repainted pink, and stunning front garden, bordered by a lovely picket fence.
This well proportioned home is arranged over three floors. The Entrance Hall leads to two Reception Rooms (one currently used as a bedroom), and the Kitchen, which overlooks the Garden. On the 1st floor are two Double Bedrooms and the Bathroom. On the 2nd floor is a top floor room, perfect as a third Double Bedroom, Study, or Guest Room (please note that this room has some restricted height). There is a comfy window seat, perfect for relaxing, reading and people watching! Eaves cupboards provide lots of storage space.
The Kitchen door leads to a colourful back Garden, which has delightful planting and a lovely Summerhouse. The Garden also benefits from useful additional access via a path leading to the back gate. On street permit parking is to the front. The road is a Low Traffic Neighbourhood, so it is quiet as there is no through traffic. Offered with the benefit of no onward chain.
Additional Details
The front of the house, exterior of the wooden sash windows, and the front and back doors were all repainted in August this year. Kitchen extension flat roof was replaced in 2021 (7 years remaining on the Guarantee). At the same time the main house roof was checked, with all necessary improvements carried out, as well as all the guttering replaced at the front and back of the house. Modern, original style, wooden sash windows are double glazed. Bathroom has real wow factor with a high sloped ceiling offering a great sense of spaciousness. The additional Velux window has a remote control and a sensor, so it automatically closes when it rains. Worcester Boiler has a full yearly service history. The electrics and mains smoke alarms also have been tested yearly. House has full roof insulation.
Owner’s comment:
“It’s my dream to pass on The Pink House to new owners who love it as much as I do! It’s such a unique and happy home and full of colour inside and out. When I bought The Pink House I lovingly restored it, enjoying discovering the original Victorian features. During this process, and before the home was pink, I was cycling along The High Street and passed a stunning pink building - research lead me to an Oxford College who owned it, and the warden ventured into the depths of the cellars and pulled out the old paint pot for me. I had it colour matched and painted my house the same colour pink! I’ve loved living in the Pink House - the surrounding area is so welcoming and benefits from a fantastic Oxford Community which is so special. The Cowley Road eateries are fabulous - and Il Principe on the corner of Temple Street is the best pizza I’ve ever tasted - the friendly owners called my special order “Pinkie’s Pizza”. I love how many parks are so close to The Pink House - Angel & Greyhound meadow is my favourite, such a glorious picnic spot by the river. What I particularly like is that, with the house tucked away on a side street, it’s a lovely quiet peaceful retreat to come home to after enjoying the delights of the area.”
