Description
This is a quaint and notably quiet Nunhead pocket of almost exclusively Victorian houses, maisonettes and conversion flats.
Welcome property features include a beautiful, custom-made solid-wood kitchen, stripped and treated floorboards, a neutral decorative scheme, excellent built-in storage and a neat modern bathroom.
Nunhead, Honor Oak Park and Crofton Park stations are each a 12 minute walk. Alternatively you can hop on a bus (for all of three minutes) or walk across the park for Peckham Rye Station. Parking is unrestricted, on-street.
Enter into a communal hall shared with the ground floor flat. Walls are fresh and white. Open your own front door and immediately take the stairs to the flat proper.
To your left of the entrance hall area is a double-aspect double bedroom of 13 feet by 11 feet. A large wardrobe has been cleverly fitted in one alcove, and opposite this is a double-glazed door/Juliet balcony.
Adjacent is the bathroom with two windows (this room was once two), recessed lighting and high-spec. fixtures and fittings, including a contemporary white suite, and slick large format tiles. A large overbath shower also impresses
The landing is home to three large storage cupboards, and opposite these, open to the second double bedroom (12 feet by 10 feet), which has crisp white walls and a sash window.
Taking the width of the terrace at the front of the building is the large and light open-plan reception/kitchen of over 16 feet by over 12 feet. The fitted kitchen (in Farrow and Ball's 'Cornforth White') is hand-built: the units are American tulip wood and the counters are solid oak. Brick-style white tiling also looks great.
Appliances? Are integrated and included in the sale (washing machine, fridge, induction hob and electric oven).
As well as Peckham Rye Park and Common's 113 acres, Nunhead's Victorian Cemetery (one of 'The Magnifiecnt Seven') is a short walk.
One of the best pubs in south London is your local: The Ivy House on Stuart Road. It is the first co-operatively owned pub in London with much going on including a beer festival. The Angel Oak and The Waverley Arms are also top local pubs with beer gardens.
Nunhead Lane is your local high street with village-style green and solid, long-standing independent staples including Soper's wet fish shop and Ayre's bakery, alongside newer arrivals including Goodcup (and Goodnights), BARD4100 and Kudu Grill. Mother Superior and El Vernut are fancy bottle shops. There is also a popular community centre by AOC Architects.
East Dulwich's Lordship Lane, and Peckham's Bellenden and Choumert Roads plus Rye Lane are also close (20-25 mins walk) for further options including Frank's and Bussey's rooftop bars and Peckham Levels.
