Description
DESCRIPTION
Rambling Rose Cottage is an attractive semi-detached period house tucked away in a private location on the south side of the very popular historic town of Petworth. The house is believed to be Victorian and has very attractive external elevations which are a combination of stone rubble and cut stone, with double glazed windows, all under a pitched roof covered in slate tiles. The house has been extensively refurbished and updated in recent years and now offers light, spacious and very well-presented accommodation arranged over 3 floors.
The original front door is on the west side and is accessed via steps leading up from Station Road. From the entrance drive on the east side of house, a gravel path leads to a partially glazed door that opens into the kitchen/breakfast room, which is fitted with a range of fitted wall and base units, incorporating an electric oven with an induction hob with extractor above, a sink unit, fridge and point for a dishwasher, with quartz worktops and a light coloured wooden floor. There is a useful pantry to one end and a utility room leading to a cloakroom. In one corner of the kitchen a staircase leads down to the lower ground floor, which is currently used as a snug and separate office, with window, so plenty of natural light. From the kitchen, there is access to the original front hallway and then onto the sitting room, which is a nice room with an open fire, fitted cupboard and glazed doors opening into the garden.
From the entrance hall the staircase rises to a landing and to the main bedroom, with vaulted ceiling, cupboard and en suite shower room. There are 2 further bedrooms, one of which also has a vaulted ceiling, and a family bathroom.
Outside, the property is approached over a shared gravel entrance drive which leads to a parking space. The main area of garden is on this side of the house with an area of lawn, plant beds, an area of decking, all enclosed by close board fencing and picket fencing. The garden on the west side has an area of lawn, a gravel, partially enclosed by a mature laurel hedge and partially by wooden fencing with steps leading down to Station Road.
