Owner Comments: The flat has received a full renovation with the main objective being to capturing the suns natural cycle and allow more light to flood into the space. Sunlight moves from the bedroom as you wake, before moving through the bathroom and kitchen during the day. It finally sets in the living room and outside area.
A new opening between the kitchen and living room was made during the renovation with the old kitchen doorway removed and blocked up allowing for a new space for a fridge and storage while providing more natural light to flow into the living room from the kitchen and vice versa. A walk in cupboard became a new utility room with fitted custom shelving. Plumbing was added to the space to accommodate a washing machine.
I love the flats modern, natural and homely feel while the renovations have improved the energy of the space. The solid hardwood flooring throughout gives a robust and secure feeling which flows effortlessly and choosing natural materials and colours gives the flats grounded sense and white walls keep it open and bright.
The views from the windows are pleasantly green during the summer and a secure private entry way provides a nice spot for some fresh air. It was important for me to use high quality materials and fixtures and I spent a considerable time planning out the kitchen to provide the most functional space possible. Column radiators and Lusso bathroom fixtures give a more luxury high end feel to the rooms. A loft hatch allows for easy access to the services like central heating, electrics etc.
The flat has such great transport links. By far the most useful to me is Barnes station, a 10 minute walk, with plenty of fast trains to waterloo. There are also buses like the 337 and 430 only a 5 min walk away. A 3 minute walk takes you to a parade of shops that have been useful for all my day to day task and shopping.'
