Description

Walnut Farm is excellently presented to the market following the extensive restoration by the current owners. The works have united two former cottages to offer an unusually large and modern home with the most impressive interiors which combine a host of original features with a fresh, contemporary flair.

This home is wonderfully secluded and only comes into view once we step inside the gardens that are protected by a handsome hedge and fencing which runs around the boundary of the house. The sprawling frontage looks out upon a wonderfully landscaped cottage garden with stone pathways threading amongst the pretty flower borders and immaculate lawns. As we step inside the historic entrance hall, the large flag stones remind us of the history within and this continues into the sitting room with a vast inglenook and a series of deep set window seats. There is a lovely feature fireplace at the far end with log burning fireplace and double doors open into a sizeable second reception room, currently a playroom with exterior doors leading out onto the first of several patio areas. There is an impressive, oak spiral staircase which leads from the sitting room to two of the five bedrooms. The two here are served by a charming bathroom with a French style tub and shower above.

From to the entrance hall, we can access the first of two guest bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. This room enjoys both built in wardrobes and double doors that open out to the rear patio. From the hallway, the second staircase takes us to a large family bathroom with walk in shower and separate bathtub. There is a cleverly positioned washing machine and a large linen cupboard, all perfectly discreet within this well-designed home. We continue onto the primary bedroom which boasts vast vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and a secret door which can connect with the opposite bedroom making that a perfect choice as a nursery.

Returning to the ground floor and entering the quaint and spacious dining room, we move through to a lobby area and a lovely reading nook. From here there is a cloakroom and next to this the study and also an exterior barn-door, leading to the rear.  Opposite is the homely kitchen, with breakfast room and a family snug. Oak worktops and superior cabinetry have been well laid out to offer a lovely social space with double doors opening out onto a patio and in view of a pretty stone pond.

Beyond this is the final bedroom which is a highly versatile space that could also be used as a reception room or studio. It has a freestanding bath to one end and double doors that open onto the patio to the front of the property. This patio continues around the house to a lovely, decked area, with a pergola that currently houses a hot tub and provides another secluded seating area. An impressive resin pathway runs across the rear of the property offering a safe space from the playroom and access to the outbuilding at the rear which offer a great amount of storage with a log store beside.

The property is accessed via a shared driveway which serves just two properties. There is parking for several cars and the property is just a short walk to local amenities including the local primary school, village shop and post office and the popular local pub.
