Description

Nestling down the end of a shared drive, leading from the prestigious private Cliff Road in Hythe, is this spacious bungalow surrounded by 0.3871of an acre of delightful gardens. It is ideal as a ‘downsize' property but there is potential to extend the property outwards and upwards to create a unique home in a special location.

The long driveway leads to an off road parking area, a large detached garage and the front entrance. This opens into a porch with tiled flooring, a coat cupboard and access to the hall. The modern kitchen/breakfast room has underfloor heating, shaker style wood units and granite worktops housing high end appliances, a large central island with a lowered inset breakfast bar and an external door.

Glazed doors open into the light and bright south facing sitting room with a plethora of windows on two sides as well as sliding doors to the wide front terrace and a covered seating area. Similar doors lead to the dining room with its parquet flooring and folding doors to the garden room that has Mexican floor tiles, an insulated solid roof and garden access.

There is a family bathroom and three bedrooms including a double with parquet flooring and a fitted cupboard and the main bedroom. This spacious, light and bright room has a large picture window, a dressing room with fitted cupboards, and an en suite shower. The second bedroom has an archway to a dressing area which could also be a seating area for someone who wants their own space.

The gardens are surrounded by specimen trees providing privacy and security while the slate covered shrub beds include rhododendrons, magnolias and clipped privet bushes. There is a large lawn surrounded by a bank, a greenhouse, two garden sheds and a vegetable garden.

What the Owner says:

We have lived here for 27 years and installed a modern kitchen and added the garden room and garage. We considered extending the property but didn't feel the need, although many similar properties have added first floor accommodation but, because we have such a lovely garden, it would also be easy to extend outwards as well.
We love the quietness and the wildlife but, for health reasons, we now have to move but will be staying locally. We are only a short distance from the town centre with its supermarkets, individual shops, bars, restaurants, pavement cafes and the facilities at the Hotel Imperial. There are lovely walks and cycle rides along the canal and the beach is nearby, while clubs include Sene Valley golf, cricket, tennis, squash and sailing.
The are good local primary schools and two grammar schools in Folkestone with excellent private schools available in Ashford, Canterbury and Dover. Sandling station is quite close, while the high speed train is accessible from Folkestone West or Ashford.
