Description
The Tour
The apartment is accessed via a communal staircase that ascends to the first floor. Once inside, a private hallway leads left to an en suite bedroom, ahead to a guest WC or right through a large timber sliding door to the living space.
Extending over 40 feet in length, this massive open space combines soaring timber-clad cathedral ceilings and exposed trusses with plywood floors and original cast-iron radiators set against walls of glazed Victorian tiles. Light pours in from a row of seven Crittall windows and roof lights overhead. A mezzanine level bedroom and dressing room is reached via open-tread timber stairs from the main space and is set behind a glazed wall. A shower room occupies one corner of the room.
The kitchen is set to the north of the plan and is semi-open to the reception, with two points of access. It has been designed as a working kitchen with a Thermador range, a Sub-Zero fridge and stainless steel cabinets and surfaces. Marble tiles clad the floor and a Velux window overhead combines with Crittall windows to fill the space with light.
There are two further bedrooms to the east of the plan. One of the rooms has a large en suite shower room with double sinks by Alessi, a double shower with slate tiling and a large bath. Between the fourth bedroom and the reception is a second stairwell for an alternative entrance or exit. From the en suite bedroom on the western side of the apartment, paddle stairs lead up to an unofficial terrace clad in artificial grass and with excellent views of the surrounding area.
The Area
Morrish Road is a residential street situated a short walk from Brixton, a lively area known for its excellent food and bar scene. Nearby Brixton Village, Market Row and Acre Lane are all highly recommended destinations. The Ritzy Cinema, Electric Brixton and Brixton O2 Academy are much-loved institutions. Newly opened is The Department Store, a grand renovated 1876 Bon Marche building that now houses collaborative workspaces, a Pure Vinyl record shop, a community Post Office and Canova Hall restaurant and bar.
The green spaces of Rush Common and Brockwell Park are also nearby. Brockwell Park is one of London's best and has a lido with a 50-metre pool and a Grade II-listed art deco pavilion; as well as a cafe, tennis courts and a walled garden. Each summer it is host to the Lambeth Country Show, as well as an array of music festivals.
There are a variety of transport connections within easy reach of Morrish Road. Buses run across the city from Brixton Hill, while the Victoria Line at Brixton Underground offers speedy connections to central London.

"Nowhere has mastered the art of showing off the most desirable homes for both buyers and casual browsers alike than The Modern House, the cult British real-estate agency."
Vogue
"I have worked with The Modern House on the sale of five properties and I can't recommend them enough. It's rare that estate agents really 'get it' but The Modern House are like no other agents - they get it!"
Anne, Seller
"The Modern House has transformed our search for the perfect home."
The Financial Times
"The Modern House revolutionised property purchasing when it launched in 2005, establishing its reputation as the estate agent of choice for those who place great importance on design and good service."
Living Etc.
"It has been such a refreshingly enjoyable experience. Everyone we dealt with was knowledgable, charming and super diligent. They have a highly tuned understanding of living spaces and how people connect with them. Matching properties with the right buyers is an experience that feels like thoughtful curation."
