Description
An excellent detached village residence, substantially modernized and upgraded by the current owners in a stunning location in this popular, small village, paired with the neighbouring village of Alstone.
The property is approached by a resurfaced driveway, providing parking for three cars. There is a canopied porch outside the front door, a place to leave the muddy boots under cover. Once inside, the hallway gives rise to the stairs and has a smart refitted downstairs cloakroom, essential in the modern home. Then entry into the main living room is via a clever angled door to open into the enormous living space. To the front of the home is the living room area with its feature flame electric fire place and bow window. The kitchen area is in the opposing corner of the room, with units down opposite sides and a range of built in appliances within the stylish modern fitted kitchen under the elegant work tops. The flexibility in the living space makes it both very sociable and also interchangeable to suit the event. Dining table to seat 14 for Christmas? No problem, just push it into the lounge space to accommodate. It makes the living areas very sociable and also light, as the rear is south facing, so that light flood through to the front of the house due to the lack of dividing walls. The large patio doors take you into that large 50' x 50 south facing rear garden. A garden that feels much larger due to the open aspect as can be seen from the photos. This garden is a complete sun trap with large entertaining patio and door into the back of the garage, now with an outside office (not sleeping accommodation) and then internal door into the garage. Please take note of the size of the garage/store due to the assignment of space to the office, still a great store room at 13’ long. The office makes a great place to get out of the home and "go to work" for home workers and has that bonus view if you want it as your backdrop for your work conference calls!
The garden is a mature haven with borders and plants to add colour.
Upstairs are three double bedrooms. The master has had a clever en-suite added, another tick on the essential list of a family home of this type. The main bathroom also has a shower over the refitted suite. The balance of the bedrooms is important, and no small box room means a family with two kids works here, with the external study replacing the 4th bedroom if the buyer required. The large windows, typical of a 1960's era home, allow the light to flood in all the rooms with only one of the bedrooms on the north side of the home.
On the map the location, almost 9 miles from Montpellier in Cheltenham seems far, but the nature of the road is such that it’s around a 20 minute drive in clear traffic. Only 7 minutes, or 4 miles into Bishops Cleeve with a range of supermarkets and local shops, doctors, schools and much more. It always surprises me how quick it is from Bishops Cleeve to Teddington, despite its rural location. It’s under 4 miles to the M5 junction 9, or 6 minutes on a clear drive. Teddington is easy to go North to Evesham, as well as East into the Cotswolds for Winchcombe, Bourton on the Water and Stow. It’s in the middle of it all. The closest local shop with be the mini store at the petrol station at Teddington Hands.
This is a fantastic home, set in a pleasant and tranquil village, with smart and refitted accommodation. It is well located to reach many locations and has an amazing outlook at the rear. Call now for more information and a viewing.
