THE PROPERTY
Khurrem House is an attractive individual, architect designed home built for the current owners about 28 years ago by the well regarded Mothersole Builders. Having been updated and improved over the years, this generously proportioned family house presents colour washed rendered elevations, which have been recently decorated, under a pantile roof and enjoys accommodation of around 2,500 sq ft, standing in most attractive, mature gardens of over 1/3rd of an acre.
The entrance hall, which has a cloaks cupboard and a cloakroom leads into the inner hall, which accesses the ground floor accommodation with a comprehensively fitted kitchen/breakfast room having a wide range of base and eye level units with worksurfaces and integrated appliances including a double oven, gas hob (propane) with extractor hood over, dishwasher, fridge and a large pantry cupboard. There are windows to the front and rear aspect and a door leads into the utility room, which has a single drainer stainless steel sink with cupboards under and worksurfaces with space under for automatic appliances and houses the oil-fired boiler and has a door to the garden. The triple aspect sitting room enjoys attractive views and features a red brick open fireplace. The large dining room has a rear aspect overlooking the gardens and abutting countryside. The study, which has a window to the front and side aspect has a fitted work station with cupboards and shelving. Continuing on the ground floor there is a garden room, which is glazed to the rear and side aspects, has a tiled floor and double doors leading to the garden. On the first floor the landing leads to a large master bedroom suite, which enjoys a dressing area fitted with five double wardrobes and has French doors to a Juliet balcony with far reaching views over abutting countryside. The remodelled en-suite has a large walk-in shower, wash basin with cupboards under, low level wc and a window to the side aspect. There are two further double bedrooms, each with built-in double wardrobes and bedroom two enjoys a Jack and Jill bathroom, also accessed from the landing.
OUTSIDE
The gardens and grounds are a particular feature of Khurrem House, which stands behind an attractive historic wall and has the remains of an original moat to the front and a gravel drive leads through to a large parking area and double garage. There are many mature trees and shrubs to the front and a terraced seating area beside the former moat. The well-kept picturesque rear gardens feature areas of formal lawn, with large beds and borders, well stocked with varieties of shrubs and flowering plants and there is an ornamental pond with a rockery water feature.
Abutting the rear of the house is a large terraced seating area ideal for alfresco dining and garden areas to both sides lead to the front of the house. The gardens are enclosed by close board fencing and enjoy beautiful far-reaching views over abutting countryside. In all the grounds extend to about 0.37 of an acre (sts).
