Description
Description
Watercombe House is a substantial detached stone house with accommodation set out over two floors, boasting spectacular views of the rural countryside. Privately tucked away on the Coombe End Estate, the property is a rare find in such a prominent location in the South Cotswolds.
This family home is beautifully balanced throughout. As you enter, you are immediately struck by how bright and spacious it feels. Coupled with large windows and high ceilings, the house can be deceptive from the outside as it boasts just over 4700 sq ft of living accommodation and retains a very cosy family atmosphere.
Access is via the side of the house, you enter via a boot room into a charming corridor with an impressive main staircase complementing the space. To the left of the entrance is the family eat-in kitchen with a large Aga and a separate utility room. The banquet allows for large family gatherings. Opposite the kitchen is a study/snug area, this room faces the mature gardens and wonderful rolling rural views and access to the lawn is viable from this room and many others along this side of the house. Moving along the corridor you get to the heart of the house with a formal dining room mirroring the size and position of the study. But it is the very cosy sitting room with a working fireplace which is the jewel of the downstairs rooms as it is perfect for those cosy winter nights or family time get-togethers. From the sitting room is the diary room with several doors leading to a large sun trap patio. This room is perfect for large entertaining events as it allows for the gardens to be enjoyed from a vantage point of the patio and the comfort of the room on those summer hazy nights.
As you ascend the main staircase the landing is bright, and all 5 bedrooms lead from here. The principal room faces onto the garden side of the house and boast a walk-in wardrobe and large en suite with bath and shower. Bedrooms 2 – 4 are all large doubles with wardrobe space and en suites, with the 5-bedroom being a well-proportioned double. All bedrooms have garden/rural views.
