Description

The Lace Market Quarter Apartments are a new development of attractive
contemporary apartments situated in the historical Lace Market area of Nottingham. A combination of four restored listed buildings, complemented by two new five and seven storey buildings all surrounding a central courtyard, the development creates a relaxing space right in
the heart of the city. Once the heart of the world's lace industry, the area is full of impressive examples of 19th Century industrial architecture and is now a protected heritage site. Since the 1970s the area has benefitted from council funding to refurbish the buildings which gives the area a huge amount of character. A real mix of old and new, the iron railings and old gas lamps mix seamlessly with the high spec offices, luxury apartments and a wealth of bars, restaurants and shops, all right on the doorstep of the development.
The Lace Market quarter is within easy reach of the amenities of Nottingham city centre.
The mainline station and local tram stops are a short walk away, and the M1 is just 14 miles away. Tram link (Lace Market Tram station) 0.2 miles - 4 minute walk approx.
Nottingham Railway station 0.3 miles - 8 minute walk approx.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Nottingham's Lace Market offers a special combination of old world charm and contemporary conveniences for living. The neighborhood is well-known for its wide assortment of shops, which include high-street and boutique establishments in addition to an excellent selection of eateries and bars, making it a popular destination for nightlife and dining. But because of its popularity, it may get crowded and expensive. While there are green areas close by, such as the Nottingham Castle grounds, the surrounding area is mainly urban. Excellent transportation connections allow for simple access to the train station, buses, and trams. Although this makes traveling easier, there may be a lot of traffic and sometimes not enough parking, requiring permits. The antique building of The Lace Market creates an aesthetically pleasing setting and a strong sense of community. Like any city center, there might be occasional littering and anti-social conduct, and noise levels can be considerable, especially on weekends due to the nightlife. All in all, it's a bustling area for city dwellers.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

All complaints are quickly addressed by the administration of Lace Market Quarter Apartments, which arranges maintenance to fix problems as soon as possible. Responses are logged and handled within 24 hours.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would suggest that new neighbors get to know with the parking situation as soon as possible because the apartment's basement parking is still unfinished. Parking spots are sometimes scarce and permit-required, so making advance plans or looking into other ways to get around could save some trouble.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Access to local amenities, including the grocery store, pub, and gym, is convenient and excellent. The surrounding area is peaceful, with no traffic noise or disturbances at night, and party noise is rare.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Requests made through the resident APP, as well as interactions with security and receptionists, are promptly addressed and generally satisfactory, although occasional mistakes can lower efficiency. Some staff members handling customer requests are not professional; they tend to speak negatively to guests instead of offering alternative solutions or listening to concerns. One thing that impressed me until now was that: before signing the contract, I called to inquire about the energy supplier. The person on the other side interrupted me and impatiently suggested I look for other properties. Please be noted, as a potential tenant, I have every right to know what I am paying for and why I need to do so before signing. People made a calling before signing because they are likely to live there and may need to confirm more information, but if you always treat it negatively, impatiently, and even unfriendly, people change their minds quickly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

No reception on site or no parcel pick-up. No lift at the moment.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in the Lace Market Quarter, specifically at Chiffon House, offers a unique blend of urban convenience and historic charm. The area boasts a wide range of local shops, from boutique stores to well-known retail chains, ensuring that all your shopping needs are met. Dining options are plentiful, with an array of restaurants and bars offering diverse cuisines and lively atmospheres. Open spaces like nearby parks and communal areas provide a pleasant escape from the bustling city life. Transport links are highly convenient, with easy access to trams, buses, and train services that connect you to various parts of the city and beyond. However, occasional traffic congestion can be a minor issue during peak hours. Living on your street is generally pleasant, with good parking availability, regular bin collections, and minimal anti-social behaviour. Traffic noise is usually low, contributing to a peaceful living environment. Overall, Chiffon House in the Lace Market Quarter offers a vibrant yet comfortable urban living experience.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management at Chiffon House has consistently demonstrated a high level of responsiveness and efficiency when addressing any issues or concerns. Recently, we encountered a plumbing problem, and I was thoroughly impressed with how promptly and effectively the management team handled it. They responded immediately to our complaint and took swift action to resolve the issue, ensuring minimal disruption to our daily lives. Their dedication to maintaining the quality of living in Chiffon House is evident in their quick and professional handling of problems, making us feel well-supported and valued as residents.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I had known before moving into Chiffon House is just how spectacular the view from my apartment would be. Had I known about the stunning cityscape and the beautiful sunsets visible from my windows, I would have moved into this apartment months ago. The scenic views have greatly enhanced my living experience, providing a daily dose of inspiration and tranquility. It's a feature that truly sets Chiffon House apart and one I would have loved to enjoy even sooner.

The open spaces are well-maintained and plentiful, providing perfect spots for relaxation and outdoor activities. Transport links are highly convenient, with frequent services making it easy to get around. My street is friendly and peaceful, with ample parking availability and regular bin collections ensuring the area stays clean. Traffic noise is minimal, and there's a strong sense of community

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has been great at fixing any problems quickly. Whenever I've had an issue, they’ve sorted it out fast and made sure everything was taken care of. It's nice to know they're on top of things.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known that the building is new and some facilities are still under construction, like the parcel locker, which isn't working yet. So, there's no one to collect parcels for me.

Great location, easy to access to the lace market. Many kinds of local shops, restaturants and bars. Near the Nottingham station and tram stop. Easy to explore other areas in Nottingham.

There is a residental platform to let residents to raise problems or issues.

The room keys need to go to Saffron Court to collect instead of the building itself.
