Description

An absolute find, this gorgeous one-bedroom top-floor flat offers period living moments from Clissold Park and Newington Green.

Brickworks Says - The appeal of this flat starts on arrival when you can’t help but notice just the leafy greenness of the local vicinity. The fine-looking facade that greets you has that unmistakable London character and an easy charm that continues inside.

The flat feels bigger than its footprint might suggest, thanks to spanning one and a half floors and enjoying an extra window as an end-of-terrace perk. The rooms all share the same homeliness, with the living room being wonderfully light and welcoming and the shaker-style kitchen invitingly tucked away, ready for creating culinary creations. In every direction, you catch a glimpse of the greenery beyond. The recently renovated kitchen and bathroom share a look and feel that is both coherent and calming. The current owners clearly appreciate the importance of storage, with custom-built units making the most of all available alcove space.

Poet's Road is one of those spots that makes you feel you have it all. Turn left, and you meander the tree-lined walk to Clissold Park. In the other direction, you soon hit the village atmosphere of Newington Green. The area is abuzz with reputable foodie spots such as Primeur, Jolene and Perilla alongside the staples of a quality greengrocer, butcher, and fishmonger that deals in sushi-grade salmon and tuna. And, of course, no village would be complete without a decent local, The Lady Mildmay.

The Owners Say - We have loved living here. Poet's Road is an exceptionally quiet one-way street, and the view out of both sides of the flat is green. It has been our little tree-top oasis. The double-height entrance makes the space feel light and airy. The bedroom is quiet and peaceful, and the living room is bright and spacious. This is where we spend all of our time; one of the things I loved when I bought this flat was how much light this room gets.

There’s so much to love about Newington Green. Fantastic restaurants, as well as Cadet, a brilliant wine bar and Lizzie's on the Green for bacon rolls in the sun, are all on your doorstep. Not to mention the shopping–– Yield for natural wine and cheese, All Greens is the best greengrocer in London (in our opinion!), and Oeno Maris is a master fishmonger, as well as independent clothes, flower and gift shops. It's a lovely, friendly neighbourhood, and it just keeps getting better!
